Q: The Book of Wha--?
A: The Book of Edge. It collects all the educational resources of my old site, adds some new ones, and has some of my last stories as well.

Q: Does this mean you're back?
A: No. It means I'm gone for good.

Q: Weren't there supposed to be some special copies of this thing?
A: Yes. There will be 13 bound copies. 12 will be sent to leatherfolk around the country; 1 I will keep. Given that I'm estimating it will cost at least $300 to print and bind, those will be some time coming. I thought I would release the book in the meantime.

Q: What do I do if I can't open the file?
A: It's PDF. Get the Acrobat reader. Otherwise, it is not your time for the book.

Q: Geez, all mystical are we?
A: When I am lucky and in a good mood, yes.

Q: Can I share it?
A: Yes. Send whomever you like to the link or send them your copy. And, actually, until I get the notice of its release on the old site, I would really, really appreciate it if you sent folks this way via your LJs.

Q: What's with the kooky fonts? And the landscape format?
A: The book is designed to be difficult to read on the screen. It is meant to be printed.

Q: Ummmm.... why?
A: Because I think what it contains need to find its way into the real world and because paper lasts.

Q: Ah, I see. Megalomaniacal as well as mystic, huh?
A: Yes and no. I'm letting this book go. If people read it, so be it. If they share it, so be it. If it languishes, so be it.

Q: What's that creative commons thing?
A: It's an alternative to copyright. Details at their site. Basically, you can do anything with the work but make money from it.

Q: Cool. So, how are you anyway?
A: Deliriously happy; lonely and miserable. In other words, fully human.

Q: LOL! You're so funny. So can I still email you?
A: No. edge@lthredge.com is no longer a valid email address. I am still online, though, so if you see me say hello. I don't mind sharing my new info with those who ask.

A: It's gone.

A: There's a whole complex of reasons, but to put it simply, it's time.

Q: Can you send me your pics?
A: No.

A: No.

A: No.

Q: So it's really gone? All gone?
A: Yes.

A: The blog, too.

Q: I had a plus membership, is it still good?
A: Yep. For one year.

Q: I never got a plus membership. Can I get one now?
A: No.

Q: Um, what about that Book of Edge thing you talked about?
A: It's not ready yet.

Q: OK, so when will it be ready?
A: I don't know. Before Christmas I hope.
